just something to bore you all with :P

I haven't done much of anything today...okay that's an understatement....I haven't done a single thing today except, sleep and read a book. Which you know I'm bored when I sleep in the middle of the day...I hate sleeping when it's daylight. I feel like it's a waste of a day. So it's been pretty boring but I did take some pics just now that I wanted to share. So bear with my weirdness. :P

This little bird has been perched on the very top of the tree right outside my window & for some reason I found it odd. He's just been sitting there...taking it all in I guess. Which I don't blame him. With the exception of Walmart across the street I have a pretty nice view.

Yes this picture is at a funny angle...but I like it! :D

This mountain is called West Mountain & I have actually been to the very top of it. It doesn't look it in the picture but it's quite a ways up. :D It was a bumpy ride up there but the view was well worth it! :D

I actually don't usually have my window blinds open (I have this weird fear of people looking in my windows....) but I've decided I should have them open more often. I like the view and oddly enough just opening my windows this evening put me in a better mood. :D

*Sidenote* I've had this urge all day to just write. I don't really know about what...but when I sat down to do it...nothing came out. I was just blank. It was strange. I had it in my head all day to write and write and write...and now nothing. Hmmm....

I've been thinking about school again. I looked up how much it would cost me to attend the Art Institute in SLC and for 4 years it would cost me a little over 90 grand. It's a lot of money and that enormous price tag is daunting to me. I've also been thinking about maybe just going back to UVU and getting a few of my basic photography classes out of the way but then when I think about it, I'm not sure they would transfer because the classes at UVU are for film photography and at AI it's digital photography. So I'm still up in the air about it.

To be honest, I really feel like I'm just stuck. Not really going anywhere. I look at all my friends who are finished with college and starting their lives, and where am I?! Not even close to being finished with school because I'm not in it, not liking my job, it just stinks. I'm not looking for pity or anything...and please don't tell me that "everything happens for a reason" or "things will turn around for you", I'm sick of hearing it all. I just want to get it off my chest. So please just let me.
I thought about it the other day & I've been graduated from high school for 5 years now. You know how they ask you "where do you see yourself in 5 years?", yeah...I sure didn't picture myself here. Granted I really do like living in Utah. It's beautiful and while I'm not a huge fan of the people, it's nothing personal. I'm just not a fan of people in general. :P But I always pictured myself graduated from college, with a career that I loved and possibly starting a family. I'm nowhere near that & it's a little disheartening when I think about it. However I keep telling myself that I have to look on the bright side. That something better is going to come along. Maybe that's why I don't want to hear "encouraging" words from other people, I'm sick of telling them to myself.

Well I know this ended up being a kind of a down-in-the-dumps post but maybe that was what my need to write was all about. Just to get it all off my chest.

Well until later...

doubt

from right to left
lost, stuck in one position
move forward?
look back?

know my direction
afraid, take the first step
will I fail?
will I suceed?

hear encouraging words
doubt, clouds my thoughts
take the risk?
let it go?

blah

I didn't get called back for a second interview. I'm pretty bummed about it but there really isn't anything I can do....so yeah.

Went to a bonfire/gathering last night. It was fun. Nothing to big but it was something to do.

I have the next three days off and I'm not looking forward to it. I have absolutely nothing to do and sadly I can't even go on a trip anywhere. :(

Again....I had intentions of writing more but I'm just not up for it tonight.

not much but it's something

Had a the job interview up in Draper today. It was interesting. It was a group one & I've never heard of a group interview much less experienced one. It was different. I don't really know what I expected but we, there was 5 of us, basically just sat around a table and the owner of the studio asked us a few questions. Talked to each of us individually a little bit and that was it. Know tomorrow if they want me to come back up for a second interview or not so now I just wait. I hate waiting. I really hope this works out. I want to, need to, leave the UPS Store. I'm so sick of the job and all the crap that is going on. It's driving me insane.

Ashley & Joe's reception was nice. There wasn't a lot people there and it was very simple but cute. They are very happy together and ya can't ask for more than that. :D

Varia & I took some fun/crazy pictures while we were up there too. It was fun! :D I was gonna post some pictures but I'm not up for it tonight.
Blah. I had good intentions of writing a bunch tonight but I'm just not feelin it.

so far so good :D

It's so gorgeous outside today! A little cool form the darn snow yesterday, but still nice! Which I love since today is my day off. :D

I got my schedule re-arranged for Thursday so I can go to a group interview at a photography studio up in Draper. The job would basically be touching up photos via photoshop. I'm excited for the interview but of course I'm nervous as well. I had actually applied for a photographer job at this same place about a month or so ago but was unable to set up an interview so hopefully this time something will work out! :D

Kali, Varia and I are all going to Ashely & Joe's wedding reception tonight so that should be fun! :D Gotta love free food right?!? Haha! :P The only bad thing is that I have to miss the season finale of NCIS tonight. :(  Hopefully it will posted online so I can watch it later!
      *I lead such a sad life...I'm bummed because I'm missing a tv show...so sad ;)

So far it's been a good day...and it's only 11 am! Let's hope it continues to be good!

Thanks for putting up with my random posts everyone! I know it's not the most interesting blog out there...but it lets me get stuff out...so I appreciate you all putting up with me! :D

I ♥ the rain!

I've got my window open, there's a nice cool breeze, the sound and smell of the rain....mmmh! No better way to fall asleep in my opinion! :D

Goodnight all!

uncalled for

My boss fired one of my coworkers on Friday....for using a work computer for personal use. Every single one of his employees, myself & his kids included, has used the back office computer for personal use. It's a lame reason to fire someone. If that's the grounds for firing people now then he had better be prepared to fire all of his employees. I'm so pissed about it. The guy he fired was one of his best employees too. He had worked there for almost 2 years. I have never been so mad at a boss before. Nor have I ever lost respect for a boss as quickly as he just lost mine. I have no intentions of speaking to him unless it is directly related to work. I will still be kind and professional to our customers, they have done nothing wrong. My boss on the other hand, wow.

It was also brought to my attention yesterday that after one week of working, my boss gave one of the newer guys a raise. Now I'm not holding it against my coworker. He has a lot of experience and he knows what he's doing. However, I have worked at this job for over 2 years now and not once have I received a raise. From my standpoint, it makes me think I'm not a valuable employee to him. Which I believe I am. I have called in TWICE in the 2 years I have worked for him, I have always been flexible with my schedule, if they ever needed extra help I've always been willing to come in. I'm not saying I'm the best employee ever. I'm human, I know I've made mistakes. But who hasn't?! He can't expect us all to be perfect. We're not. Neither is he.

I don't think I can stand working for someone who does not treat his employees fair. His kids get away with everything. They can just call in and say "I'm not coming in today" and it's fine. If any of the rest of us tried that there is no way they would just let it slide. It's wrong, what he did, whether he believes it or not. It is. Flat out wrong and I never expected it from him.

He has been in such a fowl mood lately. And none of us even saw this all coming. He starts snapping at people for no apparent reason. He'll even get mad at us in front of customers. Seeing as how he always tells us to be professional I'm thinking he should follow his own words. If there is a problem with something wouldn't most people talk about it in private? I always thought so but it's not been that way lately at my work place. It's ridiculous.

So I am currently trying to find another job. At this point I'd take almost anything. I'm really hoping I can find one. It's going to be tough though. I need it to be full time & I need to get paid at least $8.50/hr in order to pay my bills. Plus I don't want to leave one crap job for another. I'm hoping I can find something that I will like. Hopefully something photography related. But we'll see. Like I said, I'll take almost anything right now.

conscience talking

feeling sorrow • bring back the days • seems like it's taking me forever • I can't hold on • relax and stand still • pull yourself up off the floor • life is gonna change • take time to contemplate who you are • and where you want to go • I've got to say something • promise to let the sun in • take back what's yours • have some respect • I'm not laughing • the world is cold • at times like this you pray • enough pride inside • scared and angry • all these plans • I built them all with these two hands • tell me what you want • I'll go and get it • here we are • let me lift you up • I would give anything • to have you in my arms • years go by • nothing slows time • you're not mine • I'm empty • I'm right here waiting • please come back to me • no matter what you say • I keep coming back • admit that I'm wrong • to leave you behind • it's not about taking sides • I changed my mind • I loved you

wishful thinking

I need a vacation. A random trip somewhere where I don't have to do anything, no plans to uphold, nothing. I just want to drive. Get away. Take a break. Go somewhere I've never been. See the sights. Take it all in. Today is the perfect day for it too. It's nice out. 70 degrees, few clouds, light breeze. Perfect day. Wishful thinking.

a rhyme

don't stop
don't go,
stand still
stand strong,
hold fast
hold on,
what's right
what's wrong,
step back
step up,
one chance
one song,
to live
to love,
the fear
is gone.

it's raining again

And I love love LOVE it! The rain make everything so clean and fresh! Not to mention the smell! Mmmm! Wonderful! :D I'm crazy, I know...most people would be absolutely sick of it by now...considering it's been raining for almost a week & a half straight & more to come this week. But it's so nice to me. :D

So it was a  no-go on the job at Allen's. I'm a little bummed. Even though it was part-time & not exactly what I wanted to do, it would still have gotten me away from the UPS Store. But oh well. I'm trying really hard to think positive about it all and hope that it means something better is coming along.

Random update on school: I've decided to wait another year to apply to the Art Institute. In Utah if you're 24, married (go figure), or have a child, you receive better financial aid. It's then based off of MY income instead of my parents. Not that I haven't received alot of good financial aid before but I'd get better and probably more once I'm 24. So I'll wait. I know alot of people may think I won't go back because I've taken so much time off from school and changed majors so many times. But to me, I just think of it as 'why waste the money, time & effort on something you're not going to love to do?' So it took me 2 1/2 years to figure out what exactly I wanted to do, who cares?! Now I know and I will get it done. It is obviously taking longer than I had ever anticipated but things happen. I'm still working towards what matters for me, not to someone else.

Well that's that. I'm out of things to bore everyone with for now.
Until later.

late night talks

I've been up for the past three hours talking with my roommate Varia. I've liked her since she moved in but when we got to talking tonight I found out that we have a lot in common. We have similar personalities & outlooks on life. It was actually really good to talk to her. It was surprisingly easy too. Some people are aware that it is hard for me to open up to people. It's always been hard. I don't want to weigh them down with my own issues. But since Varia & I are close in age and have had a lot of similar experiences and we have such close outlooks of everything it was just easy & fun. I wouldn't be up this late if it was boring. :P

We got to talking about relationships & how it seems that around here, in Utah, people seem really juvenile when it comes to being in a relationship or even a friendship. That people take it at face value. "Today's" friends. They don't really think about staying friends with someone or focusing full on to a relationship because they just want it in the here & now. Which now that I think about it, maybe that's why everyone out here had gotten married so young. I mean obviously they are focused, committed to a relationship but they commit to it without knowing if that's truly what they want or not. They want to get married, start a family, so they do. But they take what's right in front of them, without thinking about it. They want it so they get it. They don't take the time to explore themselves, find out who they really are. They just become a Mr. or Mrs. That bothers me.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't get married. If they have found that someone they want to spend the rest of their lives with by all means, go for it. I just feel like they haven't really experienced being a young adult when they all get married at the age of 18-21. Don't they miss it? Being able to do what you want when you want? Not having to make sure schedules correspond or just being spontaneous about a vacation or road trip?
I don't just randomly decide to get in m car and go on a road trip either, but I know I could if I wanted to and I like knowing I have that freedom. I'm not saying I don't want to get married either. I do. But I want it to be open. To be spontaneous, fun, random.

Can't say that this post was exactly headed in the marriage direction. :P But that's how it went. I guess I just wanted to get this out there. Not that I haven't said it all before. But that's what was on my mind tonight so that's what was written. Gotta love the randomness right?!

Anyways. I'm glad Varia & I had the talk that we did. It was good to find out that we share the same beliefs & opinions on alot of different views. That was the main point of this post. Even if that's not how it seems. :D

Dead tired. I'm off. Goodnight all.

sidenote

My birthday was alright. Worked & that's about it but it wasn't too bad. Another year older, another year gone, moving on.

Got some "good" news about Jory. (I put good in quotations b/c it's an honor for him & he is stoked about it...the rest of us...not so much.) He was assigned to protect the General when he's over in Afghanistan. I thought he was going to be over there sitting at a desk, making sure the computers were working correctly; doing soething remotely safe. Yeah, I guess not. But like I said he's excited about it and it is an honor to be choosen for that job...so I understand. I just wish somedays he wasn't such an overachiever. At least he didn't volunteer for this one (though I know he would've had he been given the chance).

That's all I've got for now. Later.

nervous

Just got back from my interview. I think it went pretty well. Tony (he's the manager) said it was good that I had had some schooling in photography because while it's not required to work there it's definitely a plus. :D So that was good. I do always worry when interviews are short though. Not that I really know how long an interview should last but yeah. I'm more nervous now than I was before I went in. I really want the job but I won't know til tomorrow. I hate waiting. It's the worst.

jobs & stuff

I got an interview at Allen's Camera at 11 a.m. tomorrow...I turned in my application yesterday. I'm hoping that's a good sign. :D

I told my boss today that I might be getting another part-time job and she asked why I would work there and not at UPS. I told her because it was at a photography store and since that's what I'm going into it can't hurt. I told her the hours would be 1-7 three days a week and asked if she would be able to work with me on that. At first she said no because they don't have an open to 1 shift. Which I know they do. I've worked it. And since we usually have a open-slow, 10-close & 1-close that I could work til 1 & there would just be two people there for the rest of the day. She said they'd probably be able to make that work. Which I'm gonna be pissed if they won't work with me on it. I have been a loyal employee to them for two years now. I've called in twice in those two years one was a legit reason, the other was just because I felt like it. Nonetheless. I've put up with a lot from them. I haven't received a raise since I started and that is beyond ridiculous to me. They keep saying that they have too many people at the store. If they have too many people why did they hire two new people after four left?! Why didn't they just hire one or none if they "couldn't afford" it?! I don't understand their logic.

This job at Allen's doesn't pay as much as UPS does but I still think I can make it work. I may have to give up having my Tuesdays off but if I'm gonna make it work, somethings gotta give. It sucks though. I don't want to give up my Tuesdays. I like having them off. I'm used to having them off. :( But I've gotta look out for me. I've got to start being more focused on taking care of my future, cause God knows I don't want to work at the UPS Store for the rest of my life. I don't even want to work there now.

I got a couple of birthday cards in the mail today. I got money, which is typical, but the first thought that went through my mind was "I should probably use this to pay bills". Lame huh?!?! I instantly think about using my birthday money for bills. Sad part is I really should...I just really really don't want to. I want to just go buy something. Splurge on myself ya know?! But we'll see.

Yup...that's all I've got for now.
Peace.

nothing exciting

I applied for a job today. It's only part-time but it is at photography store called Allen's. They sell equipment, print photos & I think they have a studio as well but not sure. I'm really hopeful that it will work out. It isn't much but it would be a start to getting out of the UPS Store and into something that I really want & like. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :D I'm really nervous about it though. I'm afraid Buddy & Sherry won't want to work around my schedule. The hours at Allen's they said would be usually  a 1-7pm  shift three days a week. Which like I said isn't much but it's a start. I really really hope I get it.

So I went to talk to the dealership where I bought my car to see if I could refinance it. I walked in and this guy was standing there & was all "hey!? have you been here before?" I said yeah & he said that I looked familiar and I asked his name. He said it was Ray, which was the guy I bought my car from. I thought he looked familiar too but didn't want to make a fool of myself. But yeah. Needless to say he is one very good-looking man. :D So I talked with him for awhile, they got the info they needed from me & I was on my way. But seriously, it made my day to see a good-looking guy & actually have him remember me. :P Good times.

I didn't get a raise. No surprise. I didn't expect one, but I was hoping for one. Lame. It sucks. I know I say this all the time but I really hate living paycheck to paycheck. Having to budget every little thing, never having any money left over just to spend on whatever. Oh well. What can I do right?!

hard day

This week is going to be hard. Jory leaves tomorrow and I have no idea how long it'll be til I get to talk to him again. You're gone for the week so I have nothing to look forward to. It's my birthday on Saturday. I opted to work since I knew you'd be gone and you're the only person I'd hang out with anyways so why sit around and be bored all day long? I'm hoping work will keep my mind occupied, somehow I doubt it will.

Talking to Jory was hard. And it was quick. Which was fine & it sucked at the same time. I know he didn't want to say goodbye. I didn't either. But we didn't have a choice. I just worry. I know I'm not the only one. But yeah. It blows. No other words describe it better.

For some reason it's really buggin me that you're gone this week. I have this feeling it's gonna change something. I doubt it will, the thought is just there. I want to talk to you, actually talk, not text but I can't, won't, bug you on vacation. I doubt you'd say much anyways. Probably just tell me 'sorry, that sucks'. That's usually what you say. So why am I hating that I can't talk to you right now?
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
to my mom melanie, my step-mom jeanette, my best friend leti, my brother's girlfriend sam, my friend kimberlee and to all the other mom's out there! ENJOY your day! :D

Saturday, May 8, 2010

I was right in front of you • you turned your back • tears flowed • that first step was the hardest • how could you go • and leave me in your shadow • little did I know then • you were just blocking my light

my faith

•you were lost and I would save you • don't think those feelings will ever fade • do you understand what you mean to me? • every little thing I did • you would stand by me • you are my faith•

seconds

tick, tick, tick
seconds go by
louder than normal
in this small square
wanting to forget
but knowing I never will
makes it seem longer
than the tiny amount it is

2 a.m.

two a.m. • wide awake • thinking, wondering • what could have been • what is to come • looking back • friends lost • friends gained • bonds grew stronger • minds grew wiser • different paths made • all across the earth • never needing an explanation • never wanting a reason • moving forward • 'cause there is no other direction • imagining the worst • and wishing for the best

just another boring day

I want to go on a road trip. Somewhere I haven't been before. Somewhere pretty, but away from people, not a fan of people. But I would like company on my road trip. Road trips solo aren't very fun...no one to stop and take random pics with. I mean you can stop and take them by yourself but it's not the same. :P Cody's going up to Portland this week for a bike race with his sister & some other friends. I'd LOVE to go see Portland. I hear it's really pretty up there. I know there are lighthouses in that area & I would sooo love to go see one! One day...
Okay well I was just bored...so this is all I've got for now...peace.

three

once, twice,
third time's the charm.
you're the third.
lucky?
maybe,
maybe not.
time tells all
and nothing
all at once,
twice,
third time's the charm

all i want

I heard this song today. The chorus describes how I feel about you perfectly. Which in a way sucks. I don't want you to know, I don't want you to turn away from me.

I'm afraid to open up to you for fear that you will disappear. It's happened before. He was my best friend. I told him everything. Everything. And then one day it was over. I got left in the dark. It wasn't anything I had ever expected from him. I can't go through that again. Not with you. You mean so much to me. And I can't tell you that. I couldn't stand to see you walk away from me, so I keep you at a distance. I hate myself for it.

You're an amazing person. I know that. You just want to make things better. I should let you. But I'm just too scared. To let you in. I know you wish I would. Part of me wonders if it would change anything. Or would you still think of me the same way you do now. However that is. I don't even know.

I want to mean more to you. You probably mean too much to me already. I'm on uneven ground. I don't know where to go from here. Up, I guess. But it's hard when I'm okay with being down, because that means you're still here. If I move on, will it matter to you? Would you come with me?

I don't know why this bothering me so much. It's an every night occurrence. You ask why I'm always up so late? You. That's why.

I can't live without all I think about
All I want is you
You're all i dream about i can't live without
All I want is you

You're all I dream about
I just can't live without
When all I think about is you
And all I want is you

giving yourself the credit you deserve

My best friend Leti is a great artist. She can paint and draw extremely well. Needless to say, I'm jealous. She's was always very private I guess you could say, about her work. She never liked to show it off or when she did it was only to select people. When she was living here to Utah she drew several paintings and actually framed them and put them on her wall. I think that was kind of a stepping point for her. She was willing to put her work out there for people to see it.
Well she has finally decided to go even more public with her work and show it outside her house. She posted her work on facebook...and we all know that if you want to keep something a secret you sure as hell don't post it on facebook. So once she posted some of her work she obviously had people telling her that they loved her work and it was so good! Well now she has people asking her if she will sell them...and that has made her nervous again. When she told me someone had asked her if they could buy one of her paintings she said she wasn't sure what she should price it at. I thought she should start them at $50, but I didn't tell her that right away. Anyways, since then she has talked to some people and they told her she should go for $40. She was thinking $25-30.

*random sidenote* I'm talking with Mandy & Megan on a three-way chat on msn messenger...one word: entertaining :P

Back to Leti's stuff. Basically we got talking about how she shouldn't sell herself short. She's good at what she does...people are willing to pay (that one person was willing to pay $100--leti said that's way too much & she has a hard enough time selling to friends because she doesn't want to over-charge them), and she should just go with it. Give herself the credit she deserves. I just don't want her to put herself down. She knows she is good...she's just doesn't want people to think she's weird for the the reasons behind the work.

Anyways. She ended up telling me that since she has put her work out there for people to see it, I should do the same with mine. But I guess I'm in the same boat as she was...I don't want people to think I'm weird. I don't want someone to look at a picture I took and say "why would you take a picture of that?!" I take pictures because I want to, because I like them. If other's like them fine...if not...fine...but I guess I do still want people to like my work.
Sounds like I should be taking my own advice huh?!?!
Easier said than done.

good show...bad habit

It's 2 in the morning....just got done watching the first disc of the first season of Prison Break...for that I'm throwing out a little bit of opposition towards my big brother...while I do thank him for giving me the season...I can't say that it's a good thing that I'm up right now....instead of asleep.
Okay...it's all good, really. It's a great show (I'm gonna have to find the other seasons now) I'm just saying that tomorrow....is gonna suck. But...it will be worth it. :D
goodnight all.
I mean good-morning.

a thank you to my brother

1. For giving me this computer in the first place.
2. For fixing it when it doesn't work properly.
3. For adding programs via Teamviewer so I don't have to impatiently wait for the postal system to fail to deliver the software. (had to rag on the postal system...for oh-so-many reasons)
4. For putting up with my whining while he fixes the problems & adds programs.
5. For making it a better day to end with than it was to begin with.
6. Simply because it's deserved.

Thanks big bro. You're the bestest-est-est-est.

between you & me

it was simple-you'd call-I'd answer-you'd talk-I'd listen-it was difficult-I'd call-you wouldn't answer-I'd talk- you wouldn't listen-it changed-I cared-you didn't-you let go-I held on

will it change?

the light dances across the surface
casting shadows
for one moment, standing in place
no movement
staring a what once was
wondering
after this, could it ever be the same?

so far...not a good day

I tried making roll-up pancakes this morning....yeah....it didn't work....and now I'm just irritated. How f'n gay is that?! I get pissed over not being able to cook! It's ridiculous! I don't even know why it made me so mad...it just did. I was hoping today was going to be a good day. I went and cleaned yesterday so I could have today to basically just do laundry then have the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted. Which I still can...I just wanted to be in a better mood. Stupid. It doesn't help that its STILL rainy & crappy outside. I want nice weather....on my day off...nothing is worse to me than having to be working inside at a job that freaking hate when it's so nice outside. Which is exactly what's going to happen this week....I just know it. Lame lame lame.

Jory is leaving this week...it sucks. Not too happy about it. What really sucks is that I can't be there. I think that's what's really bothering me right now. Knowing my brother is leaving and I don't get to say bye like everyone else. :'( It's bull. But I guess it's my problem to begin with. I'm the one who moved away. But still. It blows.

So I think I'm still going to just keep messing with the layout and everything of my blog. I"ll probably change the background alot because I'll get bored with it or it will no longer fit my mood. :D
So I apologize now for all the random changes that will occur.

Good news: Jory now officially has an ex-wife. It's wonderful. I know it was really stressful for him so I know he's glad it's done, as are we all.

Bad news: It was Greg's last day at work yesterday. :( Well, he'll only be gone for a month, then he'll be back, but only on the weekends. I'm not really looking forward to work this summer. Although I have never looked forward to work at the UPS Store...so I don't know why that would change now. We just have very few people now...and I hate training new people... I want the old crew back. We had a really good crew for quite awhile. I miss it. Suck.

Ok well...I decided I'm going to post some pics...since I don't really have any up...so the next post is mainly gonna be pics....prepare yourself. J/K---sort of.
HAPPY MAY DAY!!!
